St James Primary has a proud tradition of excellence. Excellence in Catholic Education, faith, academia, the arts and sporting avenues.
Students at St James are known and loved and our focus is on every child - every day.
St James Primary School is in Banora Point, Northern New South Wales. Our school nurtures students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and is an integral part of the St Joseph’s Catholic Parish community in Tweed Heads, as such we are a prominent partner in the evangelising mission of the Church.
St James Primary School strives to be a Christian family centred around Jesus Christ and his teachings. The Catholic Identity and tradition of the school, therefore, is characterised by Christian attitudes, values, and practices in a welcoming and caring educational environment. Each student’s personal growth and the pursuit of learning within the Catholic context is nurtured, promoted, and celebrated in partnership with parents, pastors, parish, and the wider community so that all can have life in all its fullness.
Term 3 has been a positive, yet different (and at times difficult) occasion for our students, however, everyone has engaged in events and learning that has enhanced both wellbeing and educative outcomes.
We have 2 major prize winners in The Les Peterkin Art Prize this year. Their artwork will be framed and hung in the gallery during the children's exhibition at The Tweed Regional Gallery from 2nd September to 28th November. 2 winners out of 40 framed portraits is amazing.
Recently our middle/senior school students represented St James at the Rugby and Netball Carnival. It was terrific to hear of the excitement and pride that the kids showed whilst representing our school.
Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Bundjalung people, the traditional custodians of the lands on which our College resides. We pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, and culture of the Bundjalung peoples.
